Traverser & Hoverboard Guide: A Renegade’s Best Friends
Traversers are multi-tools provided by GRAIL to every Renegade they hire. Created using advanced tech, they are perhaps one of the most diverse pieces of equipment you’ll encounter in HAWKED. Like an amped-up Swiss army knife, Traversers act as your all-in-one weapon and useful tool. Renegades are also supplied with a water-surfing Hoverboard, perfect for a swift catch-up or quick escape along X-Isle’s rivers.
Let’s take a closer look at the various capabilities of Traversers and Hoverboards, and what exactly makes them the best tools for exploring X-Isle.
TRAVERSER BASICS
Renegades always have their trusty Traverser handy, making it the starter weapon of every hunt on X-Isle. Capable of dealing both melee and ranged damage as a blade or slingshot respectively, Traversers are particularly useful in close combat and for striking targets such as puzzle icons without using up any weapon ammo.
As a tool, Traversers can be used to mine valuable Wonderium from deposits found around X-Isle.
Traversers allow Renegades to, well, traverse the terrain of X-Isle by swinging up to higher ledges and ziplining across the map (extra parkour points for cool form).
Fitted with built-in detectors, your Traverser will also alert you to any hidden stashes and even any enemies nearby while you complete your main objectives.
While Traversers are standard issue Renegade tools, there’s no reason they can’t be unique to you.
Throughout your treasure-hunting career, you’re sure to stumble upon various cosmetic customizations for your Traverser. There are a lot of unique designs and a bunch of ways to unlock them. Either through regular gameplay, spending Hawks or GE-0 Cash, progressing your Renegade Pass, collecting rewards throughout Issues, or from special events such as Twitch Drops, marketing campaigns, newsletters, and more. Keep hunting for Artifacts and your wardrobe will be stocked in no time!

HOVERBOARDS COSMETICS
Skim rivers in style by adding some flair to your Hoverboard with unique cosmetics. There are plenty of styles available, and you can unlock them by completing various activities, purchasing them with GE-0 Cash or Hawks, progressing your Renegade Pass, or as rewards from special events, campaigns, newsletters, and more.
To apply a cosmetic style you’ve collected, head to your Quarters on the Riftwake. You’ll find all your customization options readily available there to use and switch up at any time!
